Dear fellow 4x4 enthusiast,
The federal election is a time to reflect on the performance of our politicians and cast our judgment and your 4x4 passion/lifestyle should form part of your decision making process.
Who supports our community and who seeks our demise?
4WD NSW & ACT are apolitical and both sides of politics have had their moments but I would like to take this opportunity to share with you my voting intentions for Senate Candidate, Alan Hay. Alan has been Patron of the Australian Confederation of Motor Clubs for 2 years and a major driving force behind the unity of all motor disciplines, from 4x4s to motorcycles.
Thanks to Alan, we now have a new level of consultation with State Government and a direct voice (through the Vehicle Standards Working Group) in the writing of standards and legislation that affects us. Alan helped stop the ludicrous break test proposals, got a motoring enthusiast appointed to the Ministerial Safety Advisory Council, is working towards additional registration schemes and was a strong advocate against the recent CTP amendments.
Endorsed and supported by all key motoring enthusiast associations, Alan is not just a Nationals Party Senate candidate; he is our candidate, our voice! I am very concerned that Labor has entered a preference deal with our nemesis, the Greens!
I am voting below the line on the metre long senate ballot, putting Alan Hay at number 1 on the Liberal/Nationals ticket then filling in the rest of the boxes (all 110). If I wasn’t feeling so energetic I would just put a 1 above the line for the Liberal/Nationals or if I was a rusted on Labor voter I would vote above the line for the AMEP. It’s a huge indictment of Alan’s tireless work for us that the Australian Motor Enthusiast Party are giving first preferences to Alan.
